The Sterling lift transports you to The Top of The Notch, a mountain cabin lit only by candles. This is a communal dining experience. The renowned Hearth & Candle Restaurant serves a gourmet meal with appetizer, salad, choice of main course and a famous dessert. After dinner, work off those calories with a 40 minute snowshoe down to the Base Lodge.

$85 per person, includes lift access, snowshoe rental, and dinner. Advance registration is required. Sign-up deadline is Monday, at 5:00 pm. After registering guests will be required to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination and corresponding identification prior to the deadline, in person at the Guest Service Desk or Nordic Center. If you have not shown proof of Covid 19 vaccination and corresponding identification by Monday at 5:00 pm your reservation will be cancelled.

Minimum sign-up is required for trip to run. Transportation to the Base Lodge leaves from the Village Welcome Sign at 4:00 pm. Function will be cancelled in the event of severe weather.

Transportation: A shuttle bus will be at the Welcome sign in the Village at 4:00 pm to take you to the Base Lodge. Masks are required on the shuttle. You may also drive your own vehicle and park at the Base Lodge. If you drive yourself, please be at the Base Lodge no later than 4:15 pm in order to ride the Sterling lift to the summit before the lift closes. Late arrivals will not be accommodated.

What to wear: Dress warmly and in layers in order to comfortably adapt to the temperature ranges likely to be encountered during the chairlift ride to the summit, the snowshoe tour, and the warm cabin. Masks are required on the shuttle.

What to bring: We suggest you bring water and you are welcome to bring a beverage of your choosing to complement your meal. A backpack is recommended for carrying any beverage you wish to bring.

Snowshoes will be provided to you upon arrival at the Base Lodge. You may want to bring your ski poles for extra support when walking around the summit.

Refunds and cancellations: Because of the logistics of hosting this event there are no refunds for cancellations after 5:00 pm on Monday. A minimum number of people is needed for the event to occur. If the minimum number of reservations is not met by 5:00 pm on Monday, guests who have signed up will be notified and their payment refunded.

A word of advice: Please note that the Top of the Notch is a rustic warming cabin with no restroom facilities. The only facilities are natures own. You may want to use a restroom in the Village or Base Lodge before getting on the Sterling lift for the ride to the summit.

Enjoy your evening this is a true adventure and a wonderful meal!
