Wow what a day! Last night the weather changed over to freezing rain for a little while. It hit Madonna Mountain pretty good. Our Lift Maintenance crew was able to get Madonna 2 Lift running this morning, but it took most of the day to free the Madonna 1 Lift of all the ice. I would like to thank our Lift Maintenance staff for all their hard work to get the lifts moving today.

Today’s conditions improved with every run I took! It started snowing mid morning and then this afternoon it was snowing at a rate of 1 to 2 inches an hour. We received 21 inches of new snow in the past 2 days! The refresh button was being hit continuously! I did not want to stop skiing, because I knew that the next run would be even better. My next run will be better, because tonight’s forecast is calling for another 3 to 7 inches of new snow to fall. We are 100 percent open! Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. We plan to have all 78 trials open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 16 to 54 inches. 36 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Ruthie’s, Timberrrr, and Jolly Rodger for a grand total of 142 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for partly sunny skies with a high of 8 degrees. Dress warm and enjoy the fantastic conditions!
