Snow in the forecast

Tonight: Snow likely, mainly after 4 am. Cloudy, with a low around 22. The chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is possible.

Thursday: Snow before 3 pm, then a chance of snow showers between 3 pm and 4 pm, then snow likely after 4 pm. Temperature falling to around 17 by 5 pm. The chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches is possible.

This morning we are having an appreciation breakfast for our lift staff. The Sterling Lift will open at 8:30 am. All other scheduled lifts will open at 9:00 am. We received an inch of new snow overnight and 32 inches in the past week. Today we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We plan to have 77 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 16 to 54 inches. 38 trails have been groomed for today, including Snow Snake, Drifter, and Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 147 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is cloudy and 18 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 10 to 20 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies early becoming partly sunny this afternoon with a high of 33 degrees.
