Lift operations for Friday and Saturday

The current forecast for the summit of Madonna calls for a temperature of -10 degrees at 8 am Friday with a wind chill of -40 degrees.  Winds slowly diminish through the day.  At 2 pm we’re expecting the temperature to rise to -3 degrees with a wind chill of -30 degrees.  With these conditions, Madonna I lift will not operate in the morning and likely not at all on Friday.  Madonna II will operate instead.  Saturday we see some improvement, it will be -8 degrees at 8 am with a wind chill of -31.  By 10 am it rises to -5 degrees with a wind chill of -25 degrees.  Consequently, we expect the opening of Madonna I on Saturday to be delayed until at least 10 am.  Madonna II will open earlier.  We currently expect the Sterling and Morse lifts to operate as scheduled.
