Stars at night

I want to thank our snowmakers and groomers for all their hard work! They did a wonderful job getting Black Snake, Snake Bite, and the Practice Slope ready for the ski race today and tomorrow. Snowmaking operations are now on Madonna Mountain. Snow was made last night on Lower FIS and Lower Madonna Liftline. Snowmaking has been shut off on Lower Madonna Liftline and was groomed early this morning. Upper FIS is closed today due to snowmaking.

Snake Bite and parts of Black Snake will be closed during the race today and tomorrow. We plan to have them back open again around 2:00 pm when the race is finished for the day.

Today we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 5 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We have 64 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 14 to 46 inches. 21 trails have been groomed for today, including Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 89 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is sunny and 3 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 10 to 15 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies and a high of 19 degrees.
