We have 71 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 31 trails have been groomed for today for a grand total of 131 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 10 to 32 inches. Currently, it is 14 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for snow showers with 2 to 4 inches of accumulation possible with a high of 22 degrees at the base and 16 degrees at higher elevations. Tonight’s forecast is snow of 3 to 5 inches. Tomorrow’s forecast is more snow another 1 to 2 inches.

Proper Grooming and Dressing

Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. While we wait for Mother Nature to deliver some freshies today and later this week, our groomers have been making the most of what we do have. 35 trails totaling 135 acres have been groomed. 7 Lifts, including Madonna I, will be operating, and 48 trails will be open. Today’s forecast is sunny and windy, then snow of 1-3 inches, with highs of 34 degrees at the base and 26 at the summit. Dress appropriately.

Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for partly sunny skies early with snow developing later with 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible, a high of 35 degrees at the base, and 28 degrees at higher elevations.

I want to give a shout-out to our grooming staff. They have been grooming many trails for our skiing and riding pleasure. Some natural snow trails like Thomke’s, Jolly Rodger, Upper Drifter, Lower Drifter, and Goat Path were done last night. Tonight they will attack more natural snow trails like Lower Pipeline and Thomke’s. Tonight they will also groom 33 snowmaking trails, like Upper FIS, Snow Snake, and Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 133 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Tomorrow we plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 7 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We have 43 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are machine-groomed and variable with average base depths of 8 to 30 inches. Currently, it is cloudy and 26 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for a mix at the base, with snow on top and 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible with a high of 39 degrees at the base and 33 degrees at the summit.
