Rockin’ Ron here. Mogul Mouse, Billy Bob Bear, and their handler are on an inspection tour of snowmaking on Morse Mountain. Voila – they found some snowmaking whales on Lower Morse Liftline! We plan to have beginner terrain open in the near future. “Furry soon,” say Mogul and Billy.
Mogul Mouse
Snake, Mouse, Bear
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. When Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift was opened to the top, I took a few runs on one of the under-recognized trails – Snow Snake. On the ride up I spied a Mouse and a Bear, oh my.
After a day of cold temps, Wednesday looks to be warmer with a high near 25 degrees. 121 acres will be groomed for tomorrow and those trails are recommended. We plan to have 5 Lifts operating including Madonna I, and 35 trails open (more may open as conditions soften).
More terrain opens
Lower Morse Liftline is now open from Mogul Mouse’s mid-station. Currently it is cloudy and 27 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for mostly cloudy skies with a high of 34 degrees. Today we have the Sterling Lift, Sir Henry’s Glider, and Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift open to mid-station. Surface conditions are machine groomed and loose granular with average base depths of 18 to 40 inches.
Uphill travel will be allowed Tuesday through Thursday morning from 5:30 am till 7:30 am on Sterling snowmaking trails. You must be off the mountain by 8:00 am. Please park in Lot #3. Stay tuned for more uphill travel information.

Tutu Tuesday with Shay and a COOL Mouse!

yo ho SNOW!

Santa gives a good accounting of Mogul Mouse & Billy Bob Bear. Mogul did not take the cheese, it was Colonel Mustard.
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. Merry Christmas! Santa took a moment out of his busy schedule to visit Smuggs and hang out with Mogul Mouse and Billy Bob Bear. There was some question about why Mogul was on the “naughty” list. Could it have been the missing cheese?
SNOWMAKING
We received 1 -2 inches of snow in the past 24 hours and our Snowmakers are busy making more on Lower Madonna Liftline, Mulcahy’s Link, Black Snake, and Snake Bite.
It’s snowing
Cat and Mouse
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. While leaving Parking Lot 1 after some sweet runs, I saw the delivery of a new Snow Cat (actually it’s called a Bison and it’s made by Prinoth). Later on in the Village, I ran into Mogul Mouse. Coincidence? Wonderful things happen at Smuggs – like the 7″ of champagne powder that was poured on our mountains in the last 24 hours!
