Thursday: Snow. Areas of blowing snow after 1 pm. Temperature rising to near 25 by 9 am, then falling to around 15 during the remainder of the day. The chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Thursday night: A chance of snow before 7 pm, then a chance of snow showers between 7 pm and 11 pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around -6. The chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

We received 1 to 2 inches of new snow last night. Today we have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We have 25 trails open with terrain for all ability. The trail count will increase over the next two days with all the snow that is in the forecast. All 25 trails have been groomed for today for a grand total of 106 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 10 to 46 inches. Currently, it is 26 degrees at the summit of Sterling with light snow and winds of 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of snow showers before 10 am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 28. New snow accumulation of less than an half-inch possible.

Wednesday night: Snow, mainly after 10 pm. Low around 22. The chance of precipitation is 80%.

Tomorrow we plan to have skiing and riding on all 3 mountains. We plan to have 4 lifts operating; Sterling, Madonna II, Sir Henry’s Wonder Carpet, and Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift to the summit. We have 16 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. All 16 trails will be groomed for tomorrow for a grand total of 64 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 12 to 48 inches. Tonight we plan to make snow on Lower Morse Liftline, Sam’s Run, and Dixie’s Knoll. Lower Morse Liftline will be closed tomorrow Tuesday, December 17th for snowmaking.

We could see spring conditions by this afternoon. 39 trails have been groomed for today, including Upper FIS, Snow Snake, and Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 153 acres of freshly groomed terrain.
