Lower Rumrunner

We are presently making snow on Lower Rumrunner. You can tell by the photo that there is a big snowmaking cloud. This snowmaking cloud has brought visibility down to almost zero on Lower Rumrunner. We have closed all trails that end up on Lower Rumrunner because of the low visibility. Our snowmakers will be taking snowmobiles up and down Lower Rumrunner today to check on the snow guns. For everyone’s safety please stay off trails that end up on Lower Rumrunner like Poacher’s Woods, Knight’s Revenge, Shakedown, Rocky Ridge, Attitude, C+, Strawberry Fields, and the Squirts.

New Snow

We received 8 inches of new snow overnight, 38 inches in the past 4 days, and 197 inches this season so far!

Lifts and Trails

We have 7 lifts operating today, including the Madonna I lift. We have 73 trails open with terrain for all ability levels.  Poacher’s Woods, Shakedown, Knight’s Revenge, and Lower Rumrunner are closed today due to snowmaking on Lower Rumrunner. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 20 to 50 inches.

Weather

Currently it is -5 at the summit of Sterling with light snow and winds of 10 to 20 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for light snow another 1 to 2 inches of accumulation possible with temperatures between -5 and +5 degrees.

Nordic

We have 19 km of cross country ski trails open and 9 km groomed.
