Currently, it is cloudy and 28 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 15 to 25 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies with a high of 18 degrees. Tomorrow we plan to have 4 lifts operating and 11 trails open. We plan to have Sterling Lift, Sir Henry’s Glider, Village Lift to the top, and Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift open to mid-station. We plan to have 5 intermediate trails, 5 beginner trails, and 1 expert trail open tomorrow. All 11 trails will be groomed for tomorrow for a grand total of 46 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 12 to 36 inches. Tonight we plan to make snow on Lower Madonna Liftline and Mulcahy’s Link.

Another great day on the slopes

Currently, it is partly sunny and 17 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 15 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for a chance of snow showers before 11:00 am then a chance of mix with a high of 37 degrees. Tomorrow we plan to have Sterling Lift, Sir Henry’s Glider, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift to mid-station, and the Village Lift open to the top. We have 5 intermediate trails, 5 beginner trails, and 1 expert trail open tomorrow. All 11 trails will be groomed for tomorrow that’s a grand total of 42 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Tonight we are making snow on the Practice Slope, Midway Spur, and Meadowlark.

Uphill travel will be closed tonight through Tuesday night due to snowmaking and grooming. Once we have more snow there will be more options. Your patience is appreciated.

The Madonna/Sterling Base Lodge is open daily for bathrooms and Cafeteria (8:30 am – 3 pm) and Black Bear reservations under smuggs.com/blackbear.

We have 62 skiable trails and 32 lift accessible trails open today. The Madonna I lift is presently on wind hold. We have 3 lifts operating, Sterling, Mogul Mouse’s Magic, and Sir Henry’s Glider. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 18 to 48 inches. 138 acres of freshly groomed terrain for today.

Currently it is sunny and 16 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 15 to 30 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies with temperatures between 17 and 38 degrees. Winds are forecasted to decrease this afternoon.

We have 4 lifts operating today, Sterling, Sterling T-Bar, Morse Highlands, and Sir Henry’s Glider. The Sterling lift will be operating a little slower than usual. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 24 to 54 inches.

Currently it is snowing and 18 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 25 to 35 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for snow 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible with some mix, breezy, and temperatures between 20 and 33 degrees.

Weather

We received an inch of new snow this morning and 27 inches in the past week. Currently it is snowing and 10 degrees at the summit of Sterling Mountain with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for skies becoming partly sunny with temperatures between 10 and 22 degrees.

Lifts and Trails

Today we have 3 lifts operating; Sterling Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, and Sir Henry’s Glider. We have 30 trails open today with terrain for all ability levels. 7 trails on Sterling are temporarily closed due to snowmaking. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 20 to 50 inches. Midway and Meadowlark are both open.

Today we have 3 lifts operating: Sterling Lift, Sir Henry’s Glider, and Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift.  We have 36 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. We received 6 inches of new snow overnight and 23 inches in the past 6 days. Stay tuned for powder pics once the lifts start turning!

Lifts and Trails

Tomorrow we plan to have 3 lifts operating, the Sterling Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, and Sir Henry’s Glider with 36 trails open. The Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift is now open for the season. We now have four more beginner trails open Garden Path, Lower Morse Liftline, Magic Learning Trail, and Wanderer. 12 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley and Thomke’s for a grand total of 50 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and packed powder with average base depths of 16 to 48 inches. This weekend we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 4 lifts operating, the Madonna I Lift, the Sterling Lift, Sir Henry’s Glider, and Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift with around 60 trails open.

Today our snowmakers were busy on Meadowlark, Mulcahy’s Link, Lower FIS, and Lower Madonna Liftline.  Snowmaking will continue tonight and tomorrow on Lower FIS and Lower Madonna Liftline. Our snowmakers will also be concentrating on Midway for the next 24 hours, so it will be closed tomorrow for snowmaking.

We received another 2 inches of new snow overnight bringing our season total up to 102 inches! Today we have the Sterling Lift and Sir Henry’s Glider operating with 32 trails open. We are presently making snow on Lower Madonna Liftline, Lower FIS, Mulcahy’s Link, and Meadowlark. Today’s forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies with a chance of scattered afternoon snow showers with an inch of accumulation possible and temperatures between 18 and 30 degrees. The forecast is also calling for another 1 to 2 inches of snowfall tonight.

The temperature will be falling this afternoon and this evening. Our snowmakers are busy getting ready to head to Madonna Mountain tonight. We plan to make snow on Lower FIS and Mulcahy’s Link.
