New Snow

We received 3 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours, 8 inches in the past 4 days, and 321 inches this season so far!

Lifts and Trails

We are 99 percent open. Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating. We have 77 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Freefall, the Black Hole, and Madonna Liftline open from the traverse on Upper FIS. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 24 to 54 inches. We plan to groom 41 trails tonight, including Upper FIS, Snow Snake, and Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 156 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

Weather

Currently it is 4 degrees at the summit of Sterling with light snow and winds of 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies with a chance of snow showers and temperatures between 0 and 17 degrees.

It’s going to be a beautiful day

Lifts and Trails

The Madonna I lift will have a delayed opening this morning. Today we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. We have 72 trails open today with terrain for all ability levels. Freefall and the Black Hole are open from the traverse on Upper FIS. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 20 to 50 inches. 34 trails have been groomed for today, including Upper Drifter, Smugglers’ Alley, and Snow Snake for a grand total of 135 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

Snowmaking

Last night we made snow on Lower Drifter, McPherson’s, and Playground. We are presently making snow on Playground and McPherson’s Glades. Moonshiner’s Glades, McPherson’s, and Playground will be closed today due to snowmaking in progress.

Weather

Currently it is sunny and -6 at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 15 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for sunny skies with temperatures between -6 and +9 degrees. Bundle up and enjoy the amazing conditions!

It’s getting deep out there

Black Hole, Robin’s Run, and Upper Madonna Liftline are all open. Freefall is open from the traverse on Upper FIS. The traverse on Upper FIS is about 5 tower guns down on skier’s left. We now have 68 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 14 to 44 inches. We could see up to 5 inches of snowfall today. There is snow in the forecast for Monday night and Tuesday with another 5 inches of accumulation possible.

Powder turns on the work road from Robin’s Run
