We received an inch of new snow this afternoon making our season total 371 inches!

Lifts and Trails

Tomorrow we plan to have 4 lifts operating, Sterling, Mogul Mouse’s Magic, Madonna II, and Sir Henry’s Glider. We have 51 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. The trail count will increase as we groom more terrain over the next few nights.  Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 18 to 48 inches. We plan to groom 32 trails tonight, including Playground, Snow Snake, and Jolly Rodger for a grand total of 125 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

Currently it is cloudy and 29 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 10 to 20 mph. Tonight’s forecast is snow showers with 1 to 2 inches of accumulation possible. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies early with increasing sunshine and temperatures between 15 and 30 degrees.

Boyden Valley Winery will host a variety of special activities from 10:30 am – 5:00 pm including sugar on snow and maple syrup sample tastings. Stay for lunch with Skinny Pancake or Pie Empire (European-style meat and veggie hand pies). LL Bean Bootmobile Mountain Tour

The L.L. Bean bootmobile is here at Smuggs as part of their Bootmobile Mountain Tour! The original Bean Boots were designed to help people enjoy the outdoors — and so were their larger-than-life mobile replicas. Their two Bootmobiles have covered more than 350,000 miles, appeared at hundreds of events in 25 states, two countries and dozens of college campuses.

Blast From the Past Race – The Smugglers’ Notch Ski & Snowboard Club invites skiers (21 & over) to bash gates and relive their glory days with a qualifying GS course beginning at 9:30 am (two runs; best run of two) followed by a pro-style dual SL course for the top 16 men and the top 8 women. The equipment doesn’t have to be “old,” just the racers. Hamburger/hot dog barbecue and beverages included in the entry fee of $35. Registration takes place from 7:30 am – 9:00 am; inspection from 8:15 am – 9:15 am.

Smuggs Friendly Freeride Competition – Come to the 3rd annual Smuggs Friendly Freeride competition for skiers and snowboarders age 14 & under! Our goal is to give first timers and inexperienced competitors a low cost, low pressure opportunity to try out our awesome sport! Our more experienced young rippers are welcome to play too, the more the merrier. The venue will be on Full Nelson and athletes will take one competition run. Following the competition we will host a potluck in our Clubhouse. Bring a dish or snack food to share, if you are able, but it’s not required to participate.
