AutumnFest Activities at Smugglers' Notch

The fun goes on and on for everyone!

Activities available 9/4/2023 - 10/9/2023 unless otherwise noted

Choose from a variety of Resort activities, including tennis courts, bike rentals, pools and hot tubs, our year-round Zip Line Canopy Tour, guided and self-guided nature walks, playgrounds, mini-golf, disc golf, shuffleboard, basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, and a host of activities and attractions in the Smugglers' Notch area.

Hatha Yoga
Sunday, 9:00 am - 10:15 am
This all levels Hatha practice will leave participants energized and ready to face a day of adventure. We will create space and strength in the body and mind as we breathe through both fluid and static poses. This is an alignment based practice with many modifications being offered for all abilities. Advance registration required as space is limited. All levels, Ages 13 & older. $15 per person. Pre registration required, as space is lmited. Meet at the Nordland Library. Available 9/4/2023 - 12/14/2023.

Farmers' Market
Monday 9:00 am - 12:00 noon
Join us in the courtyard of the Village center for direct-from-the-field produce and all the delectable treats you will need for a great week ahead! This event will be cancelled in case of inclement weather.

Jewelry Making
Monday - Thursday 9:00 am - 11:30 am & 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm & Friday 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
In this workshop taught by local jewelers Silvio Mazzarese & Teresa Bobel you will learn the basics of jewelry fabrication by making three rings; one each of sterling silver, copper, and brass. They will be shaped, soldered, filed, and stamped. This is a fun and skills-building workshop for anyone ages 9 & older. You will go home with your own hand-made beautiful creation! Meet at the Vermont Jewelry School on Iris Lane in Cambridge, located only 3.5 miles from Smugglers' Notch Resort. $70 per person. Pre-registration required as space is limited. A minimum of 2 people are needed for the class to run. Available 9/4/2023 - 12/14/2023.

Fall Foliage E-Bike Tour

Leaf peep in a whole new way! Lamoille Valley Bike Tours invites you to step out of your car and onto a comfortable electric bike to view the spectacular beauty of Vermont’s foliage up close and personal with a self guided E-bike adventure on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. This 93 mile car-free trail sports a working farm landscape, sweeping fields of flowers, beautiful and wild river plain, and breathtaking mountainous scenery in the summer. By Fall the brilliant colors of Autumn’s foliage add to this for an unforgettable experience! Our self-guided Foliage Adventure Tours are designed to be flexible and give you the opportunity to explore the best parts of the trail at your own pace. Guests will receive a trail Ride Guide highlighting all the restaurants, shops, breweries and attractions on and nearby the trail. Our E-bikes provide a smooth ride that allows plenty of energy for adventure for all ages 10-100! Try picnicking by the river or on a scenic area of the trail. Plan your day around some shopping and dining or bike as much of the trail as you can fit into your tour time and catch as much of those foliage views as possible! $75 per person. Stick Season E-bike Adventure Tour

The 93 mile car-free Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is packed with breathtaking mountain scenery, wild river plains, rolling farm fields and travels through 4 quaint Vermont villages. Come see it undressed! When the leaves have fallen and before the snow flies the scenery opens up to reveal a whole new landscape and this fantastic trail can still be enjoyed with ease by ebike! Our Adventure Tours are designed to be flexible and give you plenty of time to explore the best parts of the trail at your own pace. This tour includes a local trail Ride Guide with all the amenities, trail information and attractions for day trips in the central portion of the rail trail. Try picnicking by the river or on a scenic area of the trail. Plan your day around some shopping and dining at any of the authentic Vermont shops, cafes, restaurants and breweries located right on or nearby the trail. Our E-bikes provide a smooth ride that allows plenty of energy for adventure!

Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice

It’s harvest time! Apples are being pressed and pumpkins are selected and carved. Oh, the smell and feels of pumpkin spice season! Join Kelley Robie of Horsetail Herbs, as we discover the spices that define the fall harvest. We will cover the “medicine” of pumpkin spices then make some mouth-watering recipes. You will be making a Homemade Pumpkin Spice Blend, a Pumpkin Spice Infused Miel (honey), Pumpkin Spice Truffles and a Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea, all while sipping a hot Pumpkin Spice Herbal Latte. Go home with step-by-step instructions and recipes to celebrate autumn! Meet at the Nordland Library. $45 per person. Advance registration required as space is limited.

Autumn Harvest Botanical Candles
Wednesday, 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Enjoy the warm glow and blissful aroma of a crackling candle in the cool fall nights! May your light shine bright as the brilliantly colored leaves float to the ground. Join Kelley Robie of Horsetail Herbs, and learn how to make your own natural “fireside candles” scented with essential oils. The basics of candle making will be covered as we create a Botanical Decorated Glass Votive Candle and a Luminous Tea Light Candle, using wooden and cloth wicks to create the soothing sounds of a soft crackling fire. Using soy and sweet-smelling beeswax as our base we will review necessary equipment and discover the nuances of candle making. Meets at the Nordland Library. $45 per person. Advance registration required as space is limited.

Yoga for All Levels

This is a medium-paced flow with a focus on the foundations of postures. The class has a combination of mobility, strength, and alignment postures that enhance any level of practitioner interested in developing more awareness in breath and movement. $15 per person. Mushroom Hunting
Thursday, 9:00 am - 10:30 am
This educational walk will educate you how to locate and identify a variety of wild mushrooms, such as chantrelles, bolets, and morels. 1-2 miles, may include some off trail exploration. Add to your knowledge or learn a new skill. Easiest, suitable for all abilities. Meet at the Gazebo. Advanced registration is required, as space is limited.

Open Studio Candle Making
Thursday, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Join us in the FunZone Party Room for a candle making experience like no other. You’ll be able to create a functional, colorful keepsake by layering different colored wax “sand” into a #smuggslove glass votive jar. Ages 5 & older. $10 per candle. Pay at the event.

Fall Foliage Ebike and Brew Tour
Thursday & Friday, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Beer and Bikes, two of man's greatest inventions! We bring the two together with a self-guided foliage adventure E-Bike tour unlike anything you've ever experienced. Visit four breweries by electric bike almost exclusively on the car-free Lamoille Valley Rail Trail! Brewery stops include Rock Art Brewery, Ten Bends Beer, Soulmate Brewing Company and Lost Nation Restaurant and Brewery. Enjoy the beautiful, car-free trail scenery of mountains and wild river valleys decked out in its Fall foliage finery and visit the breweries at your own time and pace. Grab a bite to eat while you're at Lost Nation or any of the other great eateries on and nearby the trail! In addition to your E-Bike transportation, guests will have turn by turn directions for your group ready to be mounted on the handlebar of your bike so that you may explore the trail, the breweries, and sample at your leisure. $85 per person. Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Vinyasa Flow yoga emphasizes the sequential movement between postures, coordinated with and guided by deliberate breath. This fireside Vinyasa practice becomes a moving meditation that creates strength, freedom and fluidity in the body and mind. This is an intermediate level class that can be modified for beginners and advanced practitioners. Ages 7 & older. $15 per person. Advance registration required as space is limited. Pickleball Round Robin - Intermediate
