Cabot Creamery

Home of the World's Best Cheddar Cheese.
Guided tours include an informative video, which tells not only the history of Cabot Creamery, but also a little something about the agricultural history of Vermont. After the video, take a walk down the hall to actually view Cabot's award-winning cheese being made. Following the tour ($2.00 per person over 12 years of age) you'll nibble the many varieties of cheeses, including the World’s Best Cheddar and Best Flavored Cheddar.

Horseback Riding

Brewster Ridge Horse Center
Located just 1.8 miles from Smugglers’ Notch Resort.
Enjoy a guided trail ride through the pristine pastures and fabulous forest of the Brewster Ridge, nestled amidst the peaceful Green Mountains. Rides last approximately 1 hour.

Lajoie Stables
Welcome to Lajoie Stables, a family owned and operated business for over 25 years. We offer trail rides for all levels of experience. From the first timer, to the intermediate, on to the more experienced. Tours range from 1, 1 1/2, and 2 hours and privates are also available. Open 7 days week year around. Cold Hollow Cider Mill

The Cold Hollow Cider Mill is one of the top producers of Fresh Apple Cider in all of New England and are one of the very few that press year-round. The Mill has become one of the top touristattractions in Vermont because the operation is open to public viewing. You'l see cider that's still made the old fashioned way, with a rack and cloth press built in the 1920's.

Once you've seen cider made, wander through the large Retail store and check out many of the Vermont specialty foods. Bring your appetite, since you can sample plenty ofjellies, mustards, applesauce, fudge, and other goodies.

In the Summer, watch real bees make honey in the "honey corner" (don't worry, they're behind glass). You'll also be lured by an overwhelming aroma to The Donut Counter, where you can sink your teeth into the legendary cider donuts. These donuts were featured in Gourmet Magazine, as one of the top fourdonuts in the country.

Ben & Jerry's Factory

Located on a rolling pasture overlooking the Worcester Range in the Green Mountains of Vermont is the Ben and Jerry’s Waterbury Factory. Here, you can learn all about the ice cream production process.

The tour starts in the Cow Over the Moon Theatre with a 7-minute “moovie” about how Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield turned a $5.00 correspondence class into a very successful business that shares its success with its employees and the community - and has fun doing it!

Hot Air Balloon Rides

You'll see nature from a completely unique perspective on one of the most memorable experiences of your life. Join Above Reality Hot Air Balloon Rides where we have two flight slots a day - one at sunrise and one at sunset, all depending on Mother Nature. We meet about 25-30 minutes from Smuggs in Essex, Vermont. Lake Champlain Chocolates
Lake Champlain Chocolates is Vermont's best chocolate experience. Try it first hand at their factory store located in downtown Burlington on 750 Pine Street.
