Children's Programs & Activities for ages 3 - 4 years
Discovery Dynamos and fun activities for your children!
|
Discovery is exactly what this all day program is about. Youngsters will explore Vermont nature and the forests, make creative crafts, search for the pirates treasure, make new friends and have plenty of play time as well.
Each day the activities will focus around one central theme. Other activities, unrelated to the theme of the day, may also take place. Parents are encouraged to participate in our Theme Week celebration on Thursdays.
Children are placed in groups based on age and developmental abilities. Typically 3 years olds are placed together and 4 years olds are placed together. If you wish children of different ages to be in the same group, the older child will be placed with the younger child, in a group appropriate to the younger child.
Discovery Dynamos Program is licensed by the State of Vermont Social Rehabilitiation Services to ensure the best programming and care possible for children ages 3-4. Children must be completely toilet trained to participate in the Discovery Dynamos program. No pull ups or diapers are allowed in this program.
 Theme of the Day
Rockin' Rythms & Musical Fun Children sing some old favorites and learn a couple new songs. A sing-along will begin at 10:30 am on Mondays featuring our own Friendly Pirate and Pearl the Purple Pirate Princess.
Mogul Mouse & Billy Bob Bear Mystery Mogul Mouse and Billy Bob Bear are missing and we need the children's help to find them. They follow the nursery rhyme clues to each location to find out where they are hiding. Groups will get their photo taken with the Characters. The search is every Tuesday morning.
Theme Day & Creative Fun The children will finish their masks and/or costumes to prepare for the afternoon Theme Week Celebration. The Celebration will be at 3:00 pm on Thursdays on the Village Green. The event will begin with a parade. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend. (Theme Week schedules are posted at Camp Meeting areas.)
Search for The Pirates Treasure The groups will follow clues around the Village to find the Friendly Pirate and his hidden treasure. This activity takes place on Friday.
Nature Investigations Children investigate the Vermont woods and streams with their own Smugglers' naturalists. The naturalist leads the children through discoveries of the wonders of nature, from catching bugs to catching frogs and a visit to our Nature Center. The counselors sign up with the naturalists for a specific day and time depending on the availability of the naturalist.
Creative Crafts, create a project to take home This is a day of creative fun. The children will make a craft project to take home with them. The counselor helps guide the children through these creative and fun projects.
