Smugglers' canoeing and kayaking outings are great fun for all ages, providing opportunities to explore our local waterways, learn about natural habitats, and create great memories. Paddle the Lamoille River at sunset, search for beavers at work, tour a local winery or take an ice cream float featuring a sweet treat. Or simply enjoy the serenity of paddling with our professional guides, or renting a canoe or kayak to explore on your own.
All paddling adventures include basic paddling and water safety instruction and meet behind The Family Table Restaurant at VT Canoe & Kayak on Rte. 15 in Jeffersonville, unless otherwise noted. All participants must provide their own transportation to the site. Actual river trip times will vary depending on the paddlers skill level and river current. Explore the scenic Lamoille River at your leisure. Our guides will shuttle you upriver, launch you with basic paddling instruction if needed, then send you on your way. Two tours in one - paddle the boat of your choice down the river to the Boyden Valley Winery in Cambridge. Your guide will then take you from the river to the winery where you will be treated to a wine tour, wine tasting, and a platter of Vermont cheddar and baguettes. Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm, $60 per person. Ever tried to Stand Up Paddle Board on a river? If not, this is the tour for you. You will have a guide to help you navigate the 4.5 miles on the river on an SUP. Thursday, 9:30 am - 11:30 am, $50 per person.Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to start of all tours. A canoe can hold up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children whose combined weight does not exceed 150 lbs. People in middle do not paddle. Tandem kayaks hold 2 paddlers only. Stand-up paddleboards are for one.
