Guided Hikes and Walks in the Green Mountains of Vermont
Day Hiking Adventures Explore Mountains, Woodlands and Streams
Smugglers' Notch Resort's guided hikes and walks in Vermont's lovely Green Mountains offer opportunities for family adventures as well as challenging outings for the most seasoned hiker.
We suggest that you choose your walk or hike based upon the degree of difficulty and duration of the outing. Our guided hiking program includes the following types of outings:
Walks - a 1 and 1/2 hour walk involving mild to moderate exercise. Considered the easiest in difficulty.
Wikes - A little longer in duration, up to 3 hours, and moderate to demanding exercise.
Hikes - The most physically demanding and longest in duration, typically 4 to 6 hours.
We invite you to help support stewardship of the trail network around Smugglers'. All of our hikes that extend beyond the boundaries of our own property must be registered with the Green Mountain Club in an effort to track the environmental impact on the trails. The Green Mountain Club works to protect and maintain the system of trails associated with the Long Trail, Vermont's border-to-border 273 mile hiking trail. As with many programs at Smugglers', stewardship of the land has always been a high management priority; therefore, we are encouraging each guest participating in one of the hikes outside of our own property to make a voluntary contribution to the Green Mountain Club at the time you sign up for the hike. The money collected over the course of the season is donated to the Green Mountain Club and used to support trail maintenance efforts on behalf of you, our guests. Dogs are not allowed on our guided walks, wikes & hikes.
Check out all the Guided Walking & Hiking: All Walks, Wikes and Hikes are included in your FamilyFest or SimplySmuggs Vacation Package. Please note that advance sign-up is required for all hikes. June 7 - September 2, 2013.
