Take some time off the slopes to dabble in the arts. Specially designed, hands-on workshops help you create your own arts and crafts project to enjoy for years to come. Local artists provide instruction and all the materials needed to complete your project.

Needle Felting Classes
Tuesday, Various Times
$20 - $25 per person, per session
Needle felting is a method of making felt that involves a special needle instead of water, so we’ll stay warm and cozy with dry hands during these classes. We’ll make all kinds of ornaments, pins, coasters, and little sculpted creatures. All materials provided. No experience necessary. Appropriate for ages 8 and up. Kids under 14 with adult companion only, please. Extra supplies and kits will be for sale if people want to take the hobby home with them.

Learn to make felted beads, a heart ornament and a sweet little ladybug. $25 per participant.
Needle Felt an Earth Ball – 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
In this super easy and fun class we’ll make our planet in wool! These make great gifts!! $20 per participant.
Needle Felt Beaded Earrings – 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
First make a few beads with the felting needle, and then use these and other accent beads of your choosing to make a pair of really nice earrings. Mini Earth Balls are cute and unusual! $25 per participant.

Learn yet another way to use the felting needle. Make and take a pin or ornament. $20 per participant.

Clip on and semi permanent feathers available at the FunZone. We have neutral and colorful trendy styles, synthetic and real feathers, it's up to you! Tinsel hair bling and hair wraps are also available. A unique souvenir to remind you of the fun times you had at Smugglers' Notch Resort. The Painting Place... A Walk In StudioCLOSE

$7 per hour studio fee plus the price of the bisque piece
Creativity is unleashed in this walk-in You Paint It Pottery Studio located at the Artist in the Mountains at the Morse Highlands Day Lodge. Choose from a variety of unpainted pottery pieces such as plates, mugs, picture frames, ornaments and more, then create your own pottery masterpiece using a variety of painting techniques. Once fired in The Painting Place kiln, your piece will be food and dishwasher safe. No advance registration required. Additional charge for shipping.

U-Bead It Open StudioCLOSE

Prices range from $10 - $20
This open studio is for people of all ages. The three main projects of focus will be earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. For beginners, we have pre-cut memory wire, for simple stranded designs. For the more experienced beader, we have the hardware to create more intricate necklaces, such as magnetic barrel clasps and sterling silver toggles. Our beads range from glass, silver, femo to semi-precious gems. We have beads of all sizes so even the smallest fingers can make a project of their own. Located in the Artists in the Mountains at the Morse Highlands Day Lodge.

Parent & Child each paint a platter for an additional $25
Picture your family as snowpeople and paint their portrait! Presented by the Painting Place, you will learn to use techniques such as sponging, masking and layering to paint a pottery platter masterpiece. Platters will be available for pick-up Fridays after 11:00 am. All materials provided.

Acrylic painting for anyone who has considered painting but didn't think they could, or for artists who wish to increase their creativity. Primary colors are explored, along with composition and play. Each person will be pleased to bring home a painting at the end of this session.

Explore your creative side as you develop natural forms into clay images in the three-dimensional art form. Nancy Schade leads you in clay modeling, learning the properties of various clays, and forming clay into a piece that can be finished. Take home a complete sculpture.
