"There is one sign that is broken on Thomke's run where the trails diverge. As a "blue run" skier we waited until someone came along that could tell us which run would be a blue run from that point. Otherwise we were blown away by the experience of skiing at the resort!"

"One of the reasons we chose Smuggs for our Winter vacation this year is that our kids had such a great time in the Summer Camp at Smuggs in 2006. We were not disappointed! Our four year old skied for the first time; the Cookie Race was a hit! Our seven year old daughter and seven year old niece had loads of fun in Ski School and even our skeptical fifteen year old (who has been skiing since he was not quite three) learned something new in his Notch Squad lesson! "I cannot say enough about Treasures! I am a pediatrician mother of 3 who has never put a kid in daycare before. We left our 2 year old there and felt so comfortable with the care he received. "Dec 2006 was the first time we stayed at Smuggs because the online sources rated it #1 on the East Coast for a Family Ski Vacation. We LOVED Smuggs and came back again and will continue in the future. Even though we stayed in an older unit the [Liftside] accomodations far exceeded our expectations. The kids camps were right outside our unit. We literally rolled out of our bed."

"We were completely at ease having Cyndi and Larry teaching and caring for our daughter while we were not with her. They made her camp days and her visit to Smuggs incredibly memorable!

She skied the Friday and Saturday with us with complete confidence and skill on all of the blue runs and even a few blacks (on all 3 mountains). Mogul Mouse and Billy Bob Bear were awesome... the kids were always looking to give them hugs and high fives! We enjoyed our stay as much as Lisa at reservations said we would!"

"Our daughter had a great time learning how to ski with Miss Sharon and Miss Jess in ski school. We were so impressed with the professionalism and enthusiasm the SSU staff showed in working with the children on and off the slopes.

It was so exciting to be able to ski with our daughther at the end of our trip. She already wants to ski again. My adult lesson was okay, but I feel in an awkward position with respect to lessons. I can ski Morse Mountain well. I do not like to ski on ungroomed terrain - my knees just cant take it anymore. However, I find the level 4 lesson to be not challenging. But I am concerned that the Level 5 on Sterling will be too much to handle. Would you ever consider a Level 4 lesson on groomed Sterling terrain?"

"Skiing was great! Very happy with mountain. This may sound strange but I like the slow double lifts. The big upside is trails are not over-crowded. Other mountains with high speed quads pump so many people up the mountain it's hard to enjoy the trails when most of your focus is on avoiding other skiers."

"This is where Smuggs shines. Our children (ages 5 and 11) absolutely love to ski here because of the excellent camps.

In particular this year our daughter graduated from Discovery Dynamos to Adventure Rangers where she was instructed by Larry on Morse Highlands. The kindness, quality, efficiency and professionalism of this instructor cannot be overstated. On the last morning of our visit we skied Morse Highland trails to watch our daughter's progress and were extremely impressed with Larry's approach. This extended even to his interactions with the children under his care during lunch break in the Morse Highlands Lodge. Larry is an asset to your resort and I compliment you and him on working so hard to make our daughter's experience so enjoyable. We will be requesting Larry directly on our return holiday in March!

"As soon as you enter your condo you feel relaxed.

If you are in a vacation share [home] of some type, it looks as good in year 5 as it did the first time you saw the model. Then of course the Smuggs full time staff make you feel at home right away, like they are glad to see you. Our family has moved often in the past 15 years and our 2 oldest children are now in college, working and don't come home often, but every Christmas we all meet at Smuggs. We could use our RCI points and go almost anywhere else but Smuggs is now home to them. We ski like crazy, work out in the North Hill club house, eat and just look out at the mountains and we all relax and let go."

"First, let me say that your staff were the most genuinely friendly and helpful that we have ever encountered.

The welcome packet would have been nice to get in the mail, so we could plan some things ahead of time. Upon arrival, we were so busy skiing that we missed a few things. Also, it was kind of confusing getting the kids to where they had to be the first day. I don’t know if there is a more clear way to inform parents of the routine of getting the kids where they need to be with all their papers filled out, etc. I know it was in the packet, but I didn’t see it until the second day. This is probably more a function of me being disorganized and having 6 kids to get to different places than any fault of yours. Also, the staff were unbelievably helpful in helping me find where to go and switching the kids from morning to afternoon lessons. We are used to grumpy and sullen responses to special requests that we expected our problems to be handled in a problematic manner. However, we found your staff to be genuinely interested in helping out and without even a trace of grumpiness; quite the opposite, they actually seemed to enjoy helping us. This was such a different experience for us, that we wondered if we had gone to another planet rather than to Vermont. THANK YOU!"
