Winter wonderland

It was another great day on the slopes. The day started off with flurries and some light snow. We received an inch of new snow in the past 24 hours and 2 inches in the past 2 days. I went skiing this morning and had fun making some GS turns on the fresh corduroy. I went snowboarding this afternoon. I slowed things down a little bit and played in the soft snow on the side of the trail. The skies started clearing out later in the afternoon, which made for a beautiful sunset this afternoon.

We have skiing and riding on all 3 mountains. We have 5 lifts operating; Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, Village Lift, Sterling Lift, Sir Henry’s Glider, and Madonna II Lift. We have 17 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 14 out of the 17 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 67 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and loose granular with average base depths of 6 to 32 inches. We are presently making snow on Sam’s Run, Snow Snake, and Curley’s Cutback. Currently, it is partly cloudy and 17 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 15 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies with a chance of light snow early with an inch of accumulation possible and a high of 31 degrees.
