Vermont Specialty Food Day - Sample delicious Vermont specialty foods from cheese to maple syrup in the Village courtyard from 10:30 am - 2:30 pm. FamilyFun Magazine Winter Carnival - Always a family favorite! FamilyFun Magazine teams up with Smugglers' for this special Winter Carnival on our Village Green featuring music and live entertainment plus face painting, games, a bonfire, giveaways and an outdoor barbeque. The festivities begin at 2:30 pm!

Bonfire, torchlight parade and fireworks - Join us for the fun as we light up the night sky with a bonfire, dramatic torchlight parade starring our Snow Sport University instructors, and fireworks against the backdrop of the Green Mountains! The Village Green offers a great vantage point for watching the action. 8:00 pm.

2016 Backcountry Basecamp - Come join the editors of Backcountry Magazine for a resort-based showcase of all things Backcountry. From gear manufacturers, to retailers, to resorts, everyone is taking notice of the evolution from the piste to the powder. For nearly 20 years Backcountry Magazine has been the leading source for the backcountry movement and now were bringing that expertise to a one-on-one setting through our Backcountry Basecamp Tour at Smugglers Notch. Featuring Alpine Touring, Avalanche Training, demos, trade displays, and on mountain course treks presented by Marmot, Patagonia, Leki, Tecnica, Marker, and more. 15th annual Northern Vermont Snowshoe Races and Family Snowshoe Festival - Smugglers' and Atlas Snowshoes present this exciting day of treks, walks and races on snowshoes. There's something for everyone: a 1/2K Kids' Fun Run, a 4K Fun Run/Walk, and an 8K race. We will again be partnering with the Vermont Senior Games for the Senior Games Snowshoe Race State Championships for ages 50 and up in the 4K.

A limited number of rentals are available at the Nordic Center. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Burlington, Vermont and the food shelf in Cambridge, Vermont. Sign up in advance online

You may also register at the Nordic Center on the day of the event beginning at 9:00 am. The Kids' Fun Run starts at 10:30 am and the 4K and 8K start at 11:00 am. Print a registration form

Extreme Skiing Challenge - The Smugglers' Notch Ski and Snowboard Club will host the 2015 Smugglers' Notch Extreme Skiing Challenge, an opportunity for junior and adult freeskiers to show their stuff on some of the most difficult terrain Smugglers' Notch has to offer! The course is planned for the Madonna headwall, an ungroomed steep with a double fall line descent filled with cliffs, bumps, trees, chutes, and stumps. Competitors will be judged on line, control, fluidity, technique and style.

The Extreme Skiing Challenge is IFSA (Juniors 18 yrs old & under) and FWQ2* (19 yrs old +) sanctioned allowing Eastern skiers to garner ranking and seeding points in these competitive series. NEW this year, the Extreme Skiing Challenge is part of the 6-stop Ski The East Freeride Tour.

As the competitors run the course on the headwall from just below Catwalk to just above Madonna midstation, the best seats in the house for watching the excitement will be on the Madonna summit lift. Spectators also can view from a roped off area at the Red Fox Glades near the finish area at the base of the Madonna headwall, easily accessed from midstation.

$45 entry fee (includes t-shirt) and $39 lift ticket available. The field will be capped at 100 competitors.

3-Mountain Throwdown — The greatest mountaineering race of the season! 3 Mountains, 2 teammates and the ultimate mountaineering adventure! Hike, climb, race and slide your way to a stash of checkpoints hidden throughout Smugglers Notch. Flaik GPS will monitor progress and ensure that checkpoints are visited and hikes are accomplishedFlaik will also provide all rippers and sliders with personal stats on vertical feet, speed and time. Teams visit checkpoints in any order they choosewith limited time to study the map prior to starting, strategy becomes equally as important as speed. Every chair lift will be in play and downhill action will run the gamut from green groomer to black diamond glades. Blast From the Past Race - The Smugglers' Notch Ski & Snowboard Club invites skiers (21 & over) to bash gates and relive their glory days with a qualifying GS course beginning at 9:30 am (two runs; best run of two) followed by a pro-style dual SL course for the top 16 men and the top 8 women. The equipment doesn't have to be "old," just the racers. Hamburger/hot dog barbecue and beverages included in the entry fee of $35. Registration takes place from 7:30 am - 9:00 am; inspection from 8:15 am - 9:15 am. Call 802-644-1177 for more information. It's the 21st year of Blast from the Past - come celebrate!

4th Annual Pond Skimming in the Zone Terrain Park! The event is free! Registration starts at 10:00 am at the Parking Lot 1 Yurt and the event starts at 12:00 noon. Prizes awarded for best costume and most spectacular landing! Spectators are welcome!

Chillin' 'n Grillin' Annual Tailgate Party - It's more than blue skies and long sunny afternoons that will bring skiers and riders together. Smuggs annual tailgate party is awarding over $2,500 in cash and prizes to winners of the following categories:

Bunco Night at the Boyden Barn - Calling all Bunco fans! The Cambridge Rotary sponsors a Bunco Night at the Barn at Boyden Farm from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Enjoy a silent auction, prizes, raffle, and cash bar. $15 per person. Tickets available for purchase at the Cambridge Village Market, the Union Bank, Jack Corse Fuels, and the Varnum Library in Jeffersonville. The Barn at the Boyden Farm is located at the junction of Routes 104 and 15 in Cambridge. Proceeds benefit the Cambridge Rotary Community causes.
