Saturday, November 15 Burton Riglet Park at ECHO Center. Join our Snow Sport University snowboarding instructors for a free and fun introduction to snowboarding at this special Burton Riglet Park at the ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center! This event is for three to eight year-old children, our youngest future snowboarders, to enjoy as they learn to maneuver and navigate snowboard park features through play and guided discovery. This is on a first-come-first-served basis. Dress for the weather!
Each participant will receive a certificate of participation (valid for free admission into ECHO for the participating child and $2 off each admission for others in his/her party) and other special incentives to encourage visiting a few of Vermont's finest ski resorts this winter. 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. ECHO Center, 1 College Street, Burlington. 5th Annual Barn Bash. Swing by the Barn at Boyden Farm at the junction of Routes 15 and 104 in Cambridge for a great evening of ski movies and fun to kick off the Winter ski & ride season! Backcountry Magazine and the Winter Wildlands Alliance present Sweetgrass Production's "Solitaire" and the telemark ski movie of the year, "Loyalty". Live music by The Bumping Jones kicks off at 8:30 pm. There will be food and drink, not to mention a great raffle with prizes from Black Diamond, Mammut, Marmot, Camelback, Turtle Fur, Smuggs, Jay Peak, and more!
Doors open at 6:00 pm for adults (18 & older). Movies start at 7:00 pm. Cost is $16 pre-purchased for adults, $20 at the door, and $5 for kids 10 and under.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Cambridge Rotary's support of Winter Wellness Days program, helping local youth participate in skiing and snowboarding.

20th annual BrewFest, Part 1 - Sample the finest in craft beers! Enjoy samples from Long Trail, Switchback, Fiddlehead, Kingdom Brewing, Harpoon, Sam Adams, A-B Shock Top, Red Hook and Magic Hat breweries plus delicious hard ciders from Vermont's Woodchuck Cider and Ohio's Angry Orchard Cider! A DJ spins the tunes and the Resort's Mountain Grille provides tasty munchies. From 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm in the Meeting House. Wednesday, December 24 Santa's Arrival, Torchlight Parade & Fireworks! 7:00 pm - Join Goodtime Charlie at the Gazebo for rounds of holiday carols and watch for the arrival of that kindly old gentleman from the North. Enjoy a spectacular visual as our Snow Sport University faculty light up lower Morse Mountain on skis and snowboards, combined with the Fireworks Grand Finale. Best viewing is at the Gazebo. Immediately following the fireworks Santa will be joining us for a few carols, cookies, and smiles in the Lower Meeting House.
9:00 pm - Non-denominational Christmas Eve Service in the lower level of the Meeting House. Children get a front row seat for a lively children’s story. Share in the fellowship, carol singing, and warm glow of the candlelight. In the Lower Meeting House. All faiths are welcome.

Competing and spectating are both FREE, with a suggested $5 donation to benefit the Flyin' Ryan Foundation, established to honor the memory of local champion extreme skier Ryan Hawks ( www.flyinryanhawks.org). In support of the foundation's efforts, Smuggs will match the total donation amount! The Black Bear Tavern will be serving food and beverages throughout the event. Thursday, February 19 FamilyFun Magazine Winter Carnival - Always a family favorite! FamilyFun Magazine teams up with Smugglers' for this special Winter Carnival on our Village Green featuring music and live entertainment plus face painting, games, a bonfire, giveaways and an outdoor barbeque. The festivities begin at 2:30 pm!
Bonfire, torchlight parade and fireworks - Join us for the fun as we light up the night sky with a bonfire, dramatic torchlight parade starring our Snow Sport University instructors, and fireworks against the backdrop of the Green Mountains! The Village Green offers a great vantage point for watching the action. 8:00 pm.
Saturday, February 21 Gravity Control Slopestyle Event - It's time to dust off the shred sticks and throw down some early season tricks. This is the first of three Gravity Control events; come check out what Smuggs has in store! Registration from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at The Zone Terrain Park and the event starts at 12:00 noon. Sunday, March 8 Extreme Skiing Challenge - The Smugglers' Notch Ski and Snowboard Club will host the 2014 Smugglers' Notch Extreme Skiing Challenge – an opportunity for junior and adult freeskiers to show their stuff on some of the most difficult terrain Smugglers' Notch has to offer! The course is planned for the Madonna headwall, an ungroomed steep with a double fall line descent filled with cliffs, bumps, trees, chutes, and stumps. Competitors will be judged on line, control, fluidity, technique and style.
As the competitors run the course on the headwall from just below Catwalk to just above Madonna midstation, the best seats in the house for watching the excitement will be on the Madonna summit lift. Spectators also can view from a roped off area at the Red Fox Glades near the finish area at the base of the Madonna headwall, easily accessed from midstation.
$45 entry fee (includes t-shirt) and $29 lift ticket available. The field will be capped at 100 competitors.
Saturday, March 14 Smugglers' Notch Ski & Snowboard Club - SNSC is hosting the annual George Tormey Challenge. This U14 and U16 event is for the athletes who didn't qualify for state championships. Usually first year athletes who want to keep the season going. Come see these young athletes 12 to 15 years old race Giant Slalom, they are competing for bragging rights and all that swag.
Benefit Rail Jam - This special rail jam benefits the Molly Rowlee Fund, which supports families with children undergoing treatment for cancer. This is the fifth year at Smuggs for this event, and it promises to again be awesome - come out and have some fun and support this great cause! The good times include music, giveaways, and a raffle. The cost to participate is $25. Register from noon to 1:00 pm at the yurt in parking lot #1. The event begins at 2:00 pm in the Zone. Saturday, March 28 Blast From the Past Race - The Smugglers' Notch Ski & Snowboard Club invites skiers (21 & over) to bash gates and relive their glory days with a qualifying GS course beginning at 9:30 am (two runs; best run of two) followed by a pro-style dual SL course for the top 16 men and the top 8 women. The equipment doesn't have to be "old," just the racers. Hamburger/hot dog barbecue and beverages included in the entry fee of $35. Saturday, April 4 3rd Annual Pond Skimming in the Zone Terrain Park! The event is free! Registration starts at 10:00 am at the Zone Terrain Park and the event starts at 12:00 noon. Prizes awarded for best costume! Spectators are welcome!
Chillin' 'n Grillin' Annual Tailgate Party - It's more than blue skies and long sunny afternoons that will bring skiers and riders together. Smuggs annual tailgate party is awarding over $2,500 in cash and prizes to winners of the following categories:
