Powder conditions
Today we received 3 to 5 inches of new snow and we have received 32 inches in the past week. The new snow has really made a big difference. It started out with wet snow, which stuck to everything. That was perfect because it allowed the existing snow to bond with the new snow. We opened 31 trails this morning, bringing us up to 75 trails! Sterling and Morse Mountain are 100 percent open.

It’s snowing!
It was pretty warm today and some of the natural snow covered trails had to be closed. The snow was just too soft. The temperature fell throughout the day and it started snowing this afternoon. The new snow will help insulate the existing snow as the temperatures get colder tonight. This will help the moisture drain from the snow. This will also allow the existing snow to bond with the new snow. On my last run of the day up Sterling it started snowing at tower 11. It was snowing pretty hard at the top and it was accumulating. We may open more trails throughout the day tomorrow.
