It was so pretty today with the bluebird skies and snow-covered trees. It was a little cold to start the day, but the sun came out and worked its magic. There was also no wind which was nice. The conditions are just fantastic. I skied Upper FIS this morning and it was really nice. There are small bumps with edgeable snow. I also found some great snow in the glades of Poacher’s Woods, Highlander, and Mustache.

“farming snow”

I want to thank Mike McAdoo and Arlo Pouliot for their work on Upper Drifter. They used the winch cat to pull snow up Drifter yesterday. They did a great job covering the rough spots near the fence. The wind loves to take the snow and move it away from the fence. The last photo “farming snow” is where the snow usually ends up. The groomers can pull the snow back on the trail and then down around the fence. This method of farming snow is a great way to capture the blown snow.

Foggy Mountain Breakdown

Snow covered trees on Madonna Liftline. 3 inches of new snow (with a little bit o’ mixed precip) in the past 24 hours, and 11 inches in the past 3 days.
The Black Bear Tavern in the Base Lodge. Some say that each beverage consumed while wearing your ski or snowboard boots equals a run (that’s a lot of hot chocolate). We have Apres Sport Parties here – on Fridays and Sundays Jammin’ Sam plays live, and on Saturdays Goodtime Charlie hosts a Trivia Show
