Grrrrroom!
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. Happy Kwanza! Our Groomers have groomed 13 trails for today’s skiing and riding pleasure. We plan to have 4 lifts operating and 15 trails open – with terrain for all abilities. More natural snow trails may open as conditions soften. Uphill Access is currently closed on all 3 Mountains. Ski you soon.
Vitamin D and Fresh-E
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. No, it’s not a Hip Hop group; it’s skiing or riding on a sunny day with fresh powder – 17 inches of new SNOW in the past 2 days! Good on you if you got on the mountain today. For Wednesday, we plan to have 20 trails open with terrain for all abilities. 12 trails will be groomed for a total of 47 acres. Grooming is scheduled for Garden Path and Lower Morse Liftline on Morse – we hope to open those trails soon. Due to grooming operations, Uphill Access is on Madonna only (beware of thin cover). Ski U soon.
Jeezum Crow, we’ve got SNOW!
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. 4 inches of new snow overnight and 17 inches in the past 2 days! We have 22 trails open with terrain for all abilities. 9 trails have been groomed, including Smugglers’ Alley. Uphill Access is limited to Madonna Mountain only.
Thomas, doubt ye not, we have SNOW!
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. As you drive through Jeffersonville and Cambridge, you might think there’s not much snow on the mountain, but au contraire, we’ve got PLENTY O’ SNOW on the Upper Mountains! 2″ in the past 24 hours and 15″ in the past 3 days. Nearly all the trails on Sterling are open – 26 in total, including Upper Pipeline, Black Bear, and Poachers Woods. Temps in the Village have allowed us to start making snow on Morse, so beginner terrain should be available soon. AND… grooming will begin on Madonna on Wednesday night. How’s that suit ya, Thomas?
NOTE on UPHILL ACCESS – due to snowmaking and grooming operations, there will be no Uphill Access on Madonna, Morse, and Sterling as of 4 pm on Wednesday, December 6th. Uphill Access will resume in the near future.
Snowmaking on Morse Mtn!
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. The Snowmakers have the snowguns blazing on Morse this morning. We hope to get beginner terrainer open in the near future. Meanwhile on Sterling Mtn, we have 25 trails open, 5 of which have been groomed. Ski you soon!
Fluctuations
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. We started out with 29 trails this morning and that count fluctuated as conditions softened and nearly all the trails on Madonna and Sterling Mountains opened, for a total of 62. I hate to be Debbie Downer or Donnie Darko, but that trail count will again fluctuate, due to the expected freezing rain and wintry mix tonight and into Wednesday. You definitely want to check back for updates. The word of the day – Fluctuations.
The Mother and Another
Rockin’ Ron Hugh. The Madonna I and the Sterling Lifts will be operating today and 29 trails will be open. We have intermediate and expert terrain available. We also have lots of snow on those upper mountains, so come out and enjoy it! The last day of operations for the Winter 2022-2023 season is this Sunday, April 9th. Bring your Mother and another.
55+, plus more…
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. To paraphrase Mr. Rogers, “It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood.” With 71 trails open it was hard to decide what to ski first, but I really enjoyed my “double compression” run of Upper Drifter to Shuttle – that put the wind in me sails. I got to hang out with the 55+ Club, a group of 90 members who are “on the hill, not over the hill.” Club President Liam Kearney invited me to their regular Wednesday breakfast get-together, and to their season-ending lunch and awards ceremony. They’re just like kids with a few wrinkles and gray hair – age is just a number. Then I saw the usual assortment of characters in my travels. I hope your day was on the plus side!
In the Groove
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. It’s March 29th and we have 72 trails open! 4 lifts will be operating, including Madonna I. 28 trails, totaling 119 acres, have been groomed. It’s Pond Skimming (12-2p) this Saturday, April 1st – no joking!! AND… this weekend’s Apres Sports Party Beer Special at the Black Bear Tavern and Bootleggers’ Lounge is Zero Gravity. We’re still in the groove – hope you are too.
