Today was just picture-perfect! Bluebird skies, great conditions, and comfortable temperatures made for a wonderful day on the slopes. I snowboarded first thing this morning on Morse Mountain. I had a blast riding the corduroy and trying to work on my carving. I then switched to my ski boots and met up with Nick Anastasi of Smuggs TV to film this week’s No Bull Video Snow Report. We started on Morse and did a three-mountain tour. We hit up Smugglers’ Alley and the woods on Madonna. To see this week’s video just go to https://youtu.be/dylLXi2BkN8
The video will be up after 5 pm this afternoon.
Tomorrow we plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. We have 76 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 38 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Drifter, Jolly Rodger, and Snow Snake for a grand total of 143 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are packed powder and machine groomed with average base depths of 16 to 40 inches. Currently, it is sunny and 27 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies with a high of 36 degrees at the base and 30 degrees at the summit.
The Nordic Center is open with 17 km of cross-country trails and 15 km of snowshoeing. The ice rink is also open.
