We have the deepest base depths of the season with fantastic conditions. We received 34 inches of new snow in the past 3 days. I was able to find some fresh turns on all 3 mountains today. The goods are in the woods and the groomed terrain has some beautifully packed powder conditions. It doesn’t matter which trail you pick, because they are all good now! Tomorrow we plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We are 100 percent open with all 78 trails. We have terrain for all ability levels. 35 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Drifter, Ruthie’s, Snake Bite, Thomke’s, Log Jam, and Hibernator for a grand total of 140 acres of freshly groomed terrain. We also plan to groom the skier’s right half of Upper FIS from Catwalk down to Dan’s Ford. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 20 to 50 inches. Currently, it is 27 degrees at the summit of Sterling with flurries. Tomorrow’s forecast calls for a chance of snow showers on top, a chance of mix at the base with a high of 38 degrees at the base and 34 degrees at higher elevations.
The Nordic Center is open with 17 km of cross-country trails and 15 km of snowshoeing trails.
