We received 4 inches of new snow during the day, 7 inches in the past 24 hours, and 10 inches in the past 4 days. This brings our season total to 88 inches. Currently, it is 19 degrees, and it is still snowing. Tonight’s forecast calls for snow showers with 1 to 2 inches of accumulation possible. Tomorrow’s forecast calls for flurries early, then partly sunny skies with a high of 26 degrees at the base and 20 degrees at higher elevations. We now have 29 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 16 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Snake Bite and Sam’s Run, for a total of 72 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 12 to 38 inches. We are presently making snow on Lower Chilcoot and Curley’s Cutback.

3 inches of new snow in the past 2 days and 75 inches this season so far. We just opened Goat Path, Father Bob’s, Thomke’s, Chute, and Bootlegger from Thomke’s. We have skiing and riding on all 3 mountains. We have 5 lifts operating; Sterling Lift, Madonna II Lift, Sir Henry’s Glider, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, and Village Lift. We now have 27 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 20 out of the 27 trails have been groomed for today, including Smugglers’ Alley, Curley’s Cutback, and Lower FIS for a grand total of 86 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and packed powder with average base depths of 6 to 32 inches. Currently, it is snowing and 14 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 0 to 5 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for periods of snow with 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible and a high of 21 degrees. Temperatures will be falling throughout the day. We received 1 to 2 inches of new snow overnight and 181 inches of snow this season so far! Today we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 7 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We plan to have 77 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are packed powder and machine groomed with average base depths of 16 to 54 inches. 33 trails have been groomed for today, including McPherson’s, Snow Snake, and Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 133 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Upper FIS was groomed on the skier’s right side last night. Currently it is partly sunny and 12 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 15 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies with a high of 22 degrees. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for 3 to 5 inches of new snow.

We received 29 inches of new snow in the past 3 days and the conditions are wonderful! My first run of the day was Freefall and it was so filled in with snow. The wind had moved the snow around a bit, but it was not wind slab. It was one soft drift after another all the way down. You can see the photos from that run in the post below. I caught up with my good friends Eric, Andy, Tony, and Ken after I was finished with the morning report. We played in the trees most of the day looking for powder stashes. We were able to find a bunch of fresh turns for everyone! It was a little cool today, but the sun felt good. Skiing or riding in the trees on a cold day is nice because you can stay warm by making many turns and you are protected from the wind.

We are 100 percent open! Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. Tomorrow we plan to have all 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 16 to 54 inches. 29 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Snow Snake, Practice Slope, and Upper FIS for a grand total of 129 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is partly sunny and 0 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 15 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for sunny skies with a high of 26 degrees.

Saturday night: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 17. The chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Sunday: Snow showers, mainly before 1 pm. High near 28. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible

The 1 to 2 inches of new snow has really made a big difference. The snow started out wet and sticky. This is great because it bonded with the existing snow. One comment was “It’s like 2 inches of cream cheese on corduroy.” The conditions are really good and only getting better. We could see up to 15 inches of new snow by Friday and that will make the trail count jump!

We received 2 inches of new snow today, 7 inches in the past 2 days, and 81 inches this season so far! The new snow has allowed us to open terrain. We now have 40 trails open. Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna I lift. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 12 to 48 inches. 24 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley, Waterfall, and Dixie’s Knoll for a grand total of 93 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is still snowing and 12 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for snow mainly in the afternoon with 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible with a high of 28 degrees. There is also snow in the forecast for Monday night with another 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible.

We have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. We now have 50 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. We received 3 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours and 6 inches in the past week. The Extreme Skiing Challenge is being held today on Full Nelson. The Teton Gravity Research Stokemobile is in front of the Base Lodge today, stop by and check it out. Upper Pipeline, Poacher’s Woods, Hangman’s, and Upper Exhibition are now open. 35 trails have been groomed for today, including Upper FIS, Smugglers’ Alley, and Snow Snake.
