Lower Morse Liftline
We have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. Madonna mountain will have a delayed opening this morning due to grooming. We have 55 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Some trails will have a delayed opening until they soften up. Currently it is sunny and 25 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 0 to 5 mph. Today’s forecast is mostly sunny skies early then partly sunny skies this afternoon with a high of 42 degrees.
It was another beautiful day here at Smuggs. The clouds were clinging to the summits of Madonna and Sterling, but everywhere else was partly sunny. The warm temperatures made for some great spring conditions. The soft moguls on Upper FIS were a blast! The skier’s right hand side had been groomed the night before last, so the bumps were smaller on that side. The skier’s left hand side is another story with nice good size moguls. A skier commented to me as they skied by, “I am so glad that they left Upper FIS bumped up!”
We are 100 percent open! Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts

Monster Face in a tree on top of Madonna Mtn, in a white out. L to R: Marie, Eire, Eireann.
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. There’s lots of forecasts, prognostications, and Nostradamifications out there, but I’m going with 2 to 3 feet of new snow by Thursday! I got to take epic runs today with my Toronto friends Eire, Erieann, and Marie. The snow was creamy and dreamy and falling steadily. Upper FIS was soft moguls with plenty o’ pow and Playground was carvin-a-licious. Shout out to Rena from Patrol for some advice on ski bindings.
BTW – 8 INCHES OF NEW SNOW IN THE PAST 12 HOURS!!!!!!!!

Glade skiing on Sterling
What is better than a powder day? One right after another! We received 9 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours and 16 inches in the past week. I had a wonderful time today playing in all the fresh new snow. The conditions just kept getting better as the snow continued to fall all day long. I found many fresh lines on Sterling and Madonna. The great thing is that they will all be fresh again tomorrow. The 24 hour forecast is calling for periods of snow with up to 5 inches of accumulation possible. We could see another 7 inches of new snow by Sunday

The new snow that we received yesterday has made a big difference in the surface conditions. Upper FIS was groomed the night before last and the new snow on top of the smooth surface is just wonderful. Today’s forecast is skies becoming mostly sunny with a high of 39 degrees.
