Tonight’s forecast is calling for snow showers with 2 to 4 inches of accumulation possible. Currently, it is cloudy and 20 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies becoming sunny in the afternoon, and breezy with a high of 20 degrees at the base and 13 degrees at the summit. Bundle up and enjoy the new snow! Last night we made snow on Dixie’s Knoll, Midway, Meadowlark, Lower Morse Liftline, Sam’s Run, and Magic Learning Trail. Tonight we plan to make snow on Lower Chilcoot, Mulcahy’s Link and the S turn above Waterfall. Tomorrow we plan to have the Sterling Lift, Village Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, and Sir Henry’s Glider all operating. We will have 16 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. All 16 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 72 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine-groomed and variable with average base depths of 8 to 24 inches.

Uphill travel is presently closed on all 3 mountains due to grooming and snowmaking operations. We plan to reopen Morse Mountain to uphill travel at its regular evening hours later this week. Stay tuned for more information.

Incoming Snow!

Our hardworking snowmakers taking a breather!

I got the chance to hang out with our amazing snowmaking team while they took a few minutes to celebrate their hard work before the snow rolls in tonight. Hopefully, Mother Nature takes over and gives these guys a little break.

As of now, the National Weather Service is predicting that we’ll get some decent snowfall on the mountain beginning tonight and continuing through Saturday. Fingers crossed they’re right!

The weekend is looking good

Today we plan to have 3 lifts operating; Sterling Lift, Sir Henry’s Glider, and Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift open to mid-station. The Sterling Lift will have a delayed opening until 9 am due to grooming today. We have 10 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. All 10 trails have been groomed for today, that’s a grand total of 32 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and loose granular with average base depths of 6 to 32 inches. Currently it is partly cloudy and 31 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 10 to 20 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for partly sunny skies, breezy, a high of 37 degrees and temperatures falling throughout the day. We plan to resume snowmaking tonight on Morse Mountain.

I see more open terrain in the forecast! Today we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 5 lifts operating. We have 29 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 19 trails have been groomed for today, including Smugglers’ Alley and Lower Chilcoot for a grand total of 85 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and packed powder with average base depths of 12 to 40 inches. Currently, it is 22 degrees at the summit of Sterling with clear skies. Today’s forecast is calling for sunny skies with a chance of some patchy fog and a high of 33 degrees.

Today: Scattered snow showers, mainly before 9 am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 18 degrees.

New Year’s Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 27 degrees.

Friday Night: Snow, mainly after 10 pm. Low around 23 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Saturday: Snow and sleet, becoming all snow after 8 am. High near 31 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Today we plan to have Sterling Lift, Sir Henry’s Glider, Village Lift to the top, and Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift open to mid-station. We have 5 intermediate trails, 5 beginner trails, and 1 expert trail open today. All 11 trails have been groomed for today, that’s 46 acres of freshly groomed terrain.
Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 12 to 36 inches. Currently it is cloudy and 25 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday Snow showers likely, mainly after 2 pm. Cloudy, with a high near 27. The chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tuesday Night A 50 percent chance of snow showers before 1 am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 9. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Currently, it is cloudy and 28 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow we plan to have Sterling Lift, Sir Henry’s Glider, and Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift open to mid-station. We have 5 intermediate trails, 4 beginner trails, and 1 expert trail open at this time. All 10 trails will be groomed for tomorrow. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 18 to 40 inches. Colder temperatures are in the forecast for Tuesday night and we plan to resume snowmaking at that time.

We are 99 percent open! Today we have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. We have 77 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 34 trails have been groomed for today, including Waterfall, Snow Snake, and Thomke’s for a grand total of 135 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is cloudy and 22 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 15 to 30 mph.

Today: Snow, possibly mixed with freezing drizzle, becoming all snow after 8 am. Temperature falling to around 19 by 5 pm. The chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Total daytime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

We received a dusting to an inch of new snow overnight and 19 inches in the past week. Today we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We have 77 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are variable and machine groomed with average base depths of 16 to 54 inches. 35 trails have been groomed for today, including Shuttle, Dixie’s Knoll, and Lower Pipeline for a grand total of 132 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is snowing and 22 degrees at the summit of Madonna with winds of 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Snow likely, mainly after 4 am. Cloudy, with a low around 22. The chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is possible.

Thursday: Snow before 3 pm, then a chance of snow showers between 3 pm and 4 pm, then snow likely after 4 pm. Temperature falling to around 17 by 5 pm. The chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches is possible.

This morning we are having an appreciation breakfast for our lift staff. The Sterling Lift will open at 8:30 am. All other scheduled lifts will open at 9:00 am. We received an inch of new snow overnight and 32 inches in the past week. Today we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We plan to have 77 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 16 to 54 inches. 38 trails have been groomed for today, including Snow Snake, Drifter, and Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 147 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is cloudy and 18 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 10 to 20 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies early becoming partly sunny this afternoon with a high of 33 degrees.
