We received 6 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours and 14 inches in the past 3 days. Tomorrow we plan to have skiing and riding on all 3 mountains. We have 4 lifts operating, Madonna II, Sterling Lift, Sir Henry’s Wonder Carpet, and Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift open to mid-station. We now have 33 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 11 out of the 33 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 40 acres of freshly groomed terrain. We are presently making snow on Garden Path, Midway, Meadowlark, and Lower Morse Liftline. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 12 to 48 inches. Currently it is partly cloudy and 11 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 0 to 5 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for partly sunny skies early with increasing clouds and a high of 29 degrees.

New Snow

We received an inch of new snow this afternoon making our season total 371 inches!

Lifts and Trails

Tomorrow we plan to have 4 lifts operating, Sterling, Mogul Mouse’s Magic, Madonna II, and Sir Henry’s Glider. We have 51 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. The trail count will increase as we groom more terrain over the next few nights. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 18 to 48 inches. We plan to groom 32 trails tonight, including Playground, Snow Snake, and Jolly Rodger for a grand total of 125 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

Weather

Currently it is cloudy and 29 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 10 to 20 mph. Tonight’s forecast is snow showers with 1 to 2 inches of accumulation possible. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies early with increasing sunshine and temperatures between 15 and 30 degrees.

We received 3 to 4 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours, 7 inches in the past 2 days, and 329 inches this season so far!

Lifts and Trails

We are 99 percent open. Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna I lift. We have 77 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. The Black Hole, Freefall, and Madonna Liftline are open from the traverse on Upper FIS. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 24 to 54 inches. We plan to groom 42 trails tonight, including Ruthie’s, Playground, Snow Snake, Wanderer, Thomke’s, and Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 156 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

Currently it is snowing and 24 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for a chance of a snow shower early then partly sunny skies later with temperatures between 12 and 27 degrees.

We are 100 percent open! We have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating. We have all 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are packed powder and machine groomed with average base depths of 24 to 54 inches. 37 trails have been groomed for today, including Upper Pipeline, Playground, and Sam’s Run for a grand total of 145 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

Currently it is 17 degrees at the summit of Sterling with beautiful sunny skies and winds of 0 to 5 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies with temperatures between 12 and 28 degrees.

Birch Run Terrain Park

I was hanging out in Birch Run Terrain Park this afternoon taking some photos, getting shots of people coming off the jump above the first set of rails. I was having fun watching all the different tricks that the skiers and riders were pulling off. Then this snowboarder did this crazy spin, which looked off axis and landed clean. I ran into him at the top of the Sterling T-Bar where he was getting ready to head back to Birch Run Terrain Park. I asked him about the trick that he had just done. He told me is was a 540 Rodeo off his toe edge. Check out his body position at take off!

Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. Lifts will operate on their weekend scheduled time this holiday week. We have 77 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. The only closed trail is Robin’s Run. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 24 to 54 inches. We plan to groom 44 trails tonight, including Jolly Rodger, Snow Snake, and Playground for a grand total of 155 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

Currently it is partly sunny and 14 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for light snow 1 to 2 inches of accumulation possible with temperatures between 11 and 18 degrees.

Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 24 to 54 inches. 39 trails have been groomed for today, including Playground, Snow Snake, and Harvey’s Hideaway for a grand total of 151 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

Lifts and Trails

Today we have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. We have all 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Upper Madonna Liftline is open from the top, but the Headwall is not open. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 24 to 54 inches. 40 trails have been groomed for today, including Playground, Sam’s Run, and Jolly Rodger for a grand total of 148 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

Currently it is 7 degrees at the summit of Madonna with winds of 1 to 5 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for sunny skies with temperatures between 6 and 15 degrees.

Birch Run Terrain Park

We received 3 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours and 7 inches in the past 4 days! The conditions are wonderful and the trail count keeps climbing higher. There is more snow in the forecast starting on Wednesday with up to 12 inches of new snow possible by the weekend. This will really make the trail count climb. Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 7 lifts operating. We now have 63 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 35 trails will be groomed tonight, including Playground, Bootlegger, and Curley’s Cutback for a grand total of 135 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

Tomorrow is the calm before the storm with partly sunny skies and temperatures between 24 and 35 degrees.
