We received 4 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours and 14 inches in the past 4 days. Tomorrow we plan to have 5 lifts operating; Madonna I, Sterling, Village, Mogul Mouse’s Magic, and Sir Henry’s Glider. We have 49 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 28 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley, Upper FIS, and Snow Snake for a grand total of 118 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and packed powder with average base depths of 8 to 42 inches. Currently, it is cloudy and 2 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 10 to 20 mph. Tonight’s forecast is calling for snow showers with 1 to 2 inches of accumulation possible. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies with a chance of scattered snow showers with a high of 24 degrees at the base and 15 degrees at higher elevations.

It’s snowing

We received an inch of new snow with more on the way. Currently, it is snowing and 9 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 20 to 30 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for snow showers with 1 to 2 inches of accumulation possible and a high of 19 degrees at the base and 9 degrees at higher elevations. Temperatures will be falling throughout the day. We plan to open the Sterling Lift around 10 am today. We plan to open the Madonna II Lift around noon today. The Madonna I Lift is presently on wind hold. Surface conditions are variable and frozen granular with average base depths of 14 to 46 inches.

Grooming operations

The Village Lift, Madonna I Lift, and Madonna II Lift are presently on wind hold. Currently, it is raining and 40 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 15 to 30 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for rain and gusty winds with a high of 51 degrees at the base and 44 degrees at higher elevations. We have 4 lifts operating today Sterling, Morse Highlands, Mogul Mouse’s Magic, and Sir Henry’s Glider. We have 19 trails open today. 15 trails have been groomed for today. The Birch Run Terrain Park is open.

Today we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains. We have 71 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. We have 5 lifts operating today; Sterling, Village, Mogul Mouse’s Magic, Madonna I, and Sir Henry’s Glider. Snowmaking continues around the clock on Upper FIS. Currently, it is 0 degrees at the summit of Sterling with clear skies and winds of 5 to 10 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies with a high of 22 degrees at the base and 15 degrees at higher elevations. 26 trails have been groomed for today, including Black Snake, Howie’s Wanderer, and Playground for a grand total of 108 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are packed powder and machine groomed with average base depths of 12 to 42 inches.

The Madonna I Lift will be closed today and tomorrow for snowmaking on Upper Chilcoot. We have 51 trails open today with terrain for all ability levels. We received 14 inches of new snow in the past 4 days and 99 inches this season so far. 24 out of the 51 trails have been groomed for today, including Smugglers’ Alley, Lower Chilcoot, and Howie’s Wanderer. Surface conditions are machine groomed and packed powder with average base depths of 12 to 42 inches. Currently, it is 1 degree at the summit of Sterling with partly cloudy skies and winds of 10 to 20 mph. We received 14 inches of new snow in the past 3 days and 99 inches this season so far. Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, Sterling Lift, Village Lift, Madonna I Lift, and Madonna II Lift are presently on wind hold. We have 67 skiable trails and 6 lift-accessible trails open today. We have the Sterling T -ar and Sir Henry’s Glider operating. Currently, it is cloudy and 17 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 30 to 40 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies with a chance of snow showers early less with than an inch of accumulation possible, windy, and a high of 31 degrees at the base. 24 trails have been groomed for today that’s a grand total of 95 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 12 to 42 inches. We are presently making snow on McPherson’s and Lower Chilcoot.

We now have skiing and riding on all 3 mountains. We have 5 lifts operating, the Sterling Lift, Madonna 2 Lift, Village Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, and Sir Henry’s Glider. We now have 38 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Presently it is snowing and 25 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 15 to 30 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for snow and sleet 3 to 5 inches of accumulation possible, strong gusty winds with a high of 30 degrees. Tonight’s forecast is calling for more snow another 3 to 5 inches of accumulation possible. We received 3 to 5 inches of new snow so far.

Birch Run Terrain Park is now open with 3 jumps and 2 rails. We have skiing and riding on all 3 mountains. We have 5 lifts operating today; Sterling Lift, Village Lift, Madonna II Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, and Sir Henry’s Glider. We now have 38 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 21 out of the 38 trails have been groomed for today, including Smugglers’ Alley, Snow Snake, and Lower FIS for a grand total of 89 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 6 to 32 inches. We are presently making snow on Playground, Lower Madonna Liftline, and McPherson’s. Currently, it is 10 degrees at the summit of Sterling with flurries and winds of 5 to 10 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for a chance of snow early then skies becoming sunny in the afternoon and a high of 21 degrees. Temperatures will be falling throughout the day.

Birch Run Terrain Park opens tomorrow with 3 jumps and 2 rails.

Tomorrow we plan to have 5 lifts operating; Madonna II Lift, Sterling Lift, Village Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, and Sir Henry’s Glider. We now have 31 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 21 out of the 31 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley, Mulcahy’s Link, and Snow Snake for a grand total of 89 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 6 to 32 inches. Tonight we plan to resume snowmaking operations on McPherson’s, Playground, and Lower Madonna Liftline. Currently, it is cloudy and 26 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for the chance of light snow early then gradual clearing with a high of 17 degrees in the Village and 12 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Temperatures will be falling throughout the day.

Today we plan to have skiing and riding on all 3 mountains. We have 23 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. We plan to have 5 lifts operating; Village Lift, Sterling Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, Madonna II Lift, and Sir Henry’s Glider. Black Snake will have a delayed opening this morning. 19 out of the 23 trails have been groomed for today, including Snow Snake, Mulcahy’s Link, and Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 82 acres. Surface conditions are machine groomed and loose granular with average base depths of 6 to 32 inches. Currently, it is partly cloudy and 20 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 15 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies with a slight chance of snow with a high of 27 degrees at the base and 21 degrees at the summit.
