Tomorrow we plan to have Sterling Lift and Sir Henry’s Wonder Carpet operating with terrain for beginners, intermediates, and experts. 6 out of the 13 open trails will be groomed for tomorrow for a grand total of 22 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 12 to 48 inches. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for sunny skies early with increasing clouds and a high of 22 degrees.

Today we have Sterling Lift and Sir Henry’s Wonder Carpet operating. We now have 14 trails open with terrain for beginners, intermediates, and experts. We received 2 inches of new snow overnight making our season total 26 inches. 7 out of the 14 trails have been groomed for today for a grand total of 25 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Snowmaking continues around the clock on Lower FIS, Lower Madonna Liftline, and Mulcahy’s Link. Today’s forecast is calling for skies becoming partly sunny with a high of 18 degrees.
This Friday, November 29th is the day the 2019 – 2020 Winter Season gets started. We plan to have both the Sterling Lift and Sir Henry’s Wonder Carpets operating. The Sterling Lift will open at 8:30 am on Friday. We plan to have Upper Rumrunner, Crossover, Treasure Run, Lower Exhibition, Lower Rumrunner, Smugglers’ Alley, and Sir Henry’s Learning Hill all open. There is some snow in the forecast for Thursday and Thursday night which may allow us to open more terrain. You will be able to ski or ride from Parking Lot #1 down to the Sterling Lift. You will also be able to ski or ride back to Parking Lot #1 from Lower Exhibition near the bottom of Treasure Run. We have a Black Friday Lift Ticket Special Offer this November 29, 2019. Bring a non-perishable item to our ticket booth or the Ski & Ride Desk, for our local Cambridge Food Shelf, and receive $20 off a full-day, 3-mountain lift ticket.

Private lessons are available with our Snow Sport University Instructors starting on Opening Day. On Sterling Mountain, we plan to have Upper Rumrunner, Crossover, Smugglers’ Alley, Treasure Run, Lower Exhibition, and Lower Rumrunner all open. Additionally, we are proud to announce that the 2020 SKI Magazine Reader Resort Survey has named Smugglers’ as #1 for Family Programs for the 15th year in a row! We were also named #1 for Service, #1 for Local Flavor, and #1 OVERALL in the Eastern United States. Roughly 25,000 votes were tallied and the readers have spoken!
Opening day last season gave us the most open skiable acreage in the USA! We’re hoping for the same, but will, of course, take whatever we can get. Snowmaking has officially fired up and crews are ready to crank out a fresh blanket of snow every chance they can get. Let us do the work this Thanksgiving!
