Celebrate the culture of the great northeast at Smugglers' Notch Resort's 4th annual FallFest, where a blend of outdoor recreation and championship competition come together for an unforgettable two-night celebration. Spend your days enjoying our Green Mountain playground on guided mountain biking and rock climbing adventures. Watch the best disc golf athletes in the world compete in the PDGA Profesional Disc Golf World Championships. In the evening, join the party on Smugglers’ Village Green as spirited sets of live music are highlighted by local food trucks & a pig roast, a curated lineup of VT craft brews and ciders and a special edition can release from our friends at Fiddlehead Brewing. Joining our musical line-up are The Felice Brothers, Too Many Zooz, Lawrence, Madaila, Sabouyuoma, and Seth Yacovone Band!
* Lawrence — For fans of: Lake Street Dive, Vulfpeck, Kat Wright. “The rich nine piece arrangements pay tribute to Motown, Muscle Shoals, and everything in Between...” Relix Magazine
* Seth Yacovone Band — The Seth Yacovone Band grew out of Burlington, VT in the Summer of 1995. Singer/songwriter and guitarist Yacovone is the only original member of the band; the current lineup also includes bassist Tommy Coggio and drummer Steve Hadeka. The band's first gig was January 2, 1996 at Nectar's in Burlington. At that point, the group played traditional blues. As word started to spread and a fan base began to build, the band played more gigs, including opening for Koko Taylor, Ian Moore, and "Monster" Mike Welch. In July of 2000, the Seth Yacovone Band released their third album, Dannemora. Although this album still contained elements of blues, it branched out into new territory, showing more of a jam band/groove side. Today the band continues a heavy touring schedule, primarily in the northeastern U.S. Phish lyricist Tom Marshall signed the band to an exclusive management contract and in 2002 they released their first disc under his influence, the bluesy Standing on the Sound.
* Madaila — For fans of: Talking Heads, Prince, Kat Wright. Psych pop juggernaut Madaila is upbeat, synth-heavy, and catchy. Vocal skill and range are immediately apparent. But in the tradition of Prince and The Talking Heads, an ornateness and heaviness expose Madaila's complexity and depth. Tight arrangements, harmonies and multi-instrumental performances showcase musical minds at work. When Madaila is on stage, spontaneous expression and contagious melody coexist. The freakier elements of the band come to the surface as the five-piece explores the deeper possibilities lying within their concise-recorded material. The band’s improvisational power gives each song the capacity to have its form pushed to the edges of comfort, or uplifting peaks.
* The Felice Brothers — For fans of: The Band, Bob Dylan, Dave Rawlings Machine. “Their Dylanesque Americana – all wheezing accordion, fiddles, and folk tales about forgotten bandits - occasionally conjures up the atmosphere of a heady barn dance.” The Guardian
* Too Many Zooz — For Fans of: Moon Hooch, Lettuce, Trombone Shorty. At the 2016 CMA Awards one sound burst from the stage like a thunderquake. As Beyoncé performed "Daddy Lessons" accompanied by Dixie Chicks and Too Many Zooz - the New York City trio which originally recorded the song on the star's Lemonade album - TMZ brought the sound of the street to Beyoncé's glittering musical declaration. Glued to their smart phones, tablets, and TVs, America beheld Too Many Zooz' innovative polyglot style.
* Sabouyouma — Sabouyouma is a high energy 7-piece poly rhythmic groove machine that formed through ongoing musical relationships in Burlington, Vermont’s vibrant West-African dance and drumming scene. Sabouyouma is led by Guinean-born Ousmane Camara: the band’s front man, composer, and master Balafonist. The balafon is a west African take on a xylophone made of wood. In many of their songs, Ousmane effortlessly strikes the 20-plus keys of the balafon all the while singing in a Guinean dialect. The band combines traditional West African dance music with contemporary funk and reggae. FallFest Lodging Special
