Accommodations & Housekeeping Services

All of our Village accommodations are privately owned condominium homes. Your self-housekeeping accommodation is prepared for your arrival with towels, linens, bath soap, dish soap, cookware, glassware, dishes and most paper supplies. An alarm clock is available.

Daily maid service is optional and easily arranged with our Vacation Planning Professionals at a nominal fee, based on the size of accommodation. For stays of more than 7 nights, a mid-stay linen change is included.

The linens for the fold out sofas are stored in a closet or blanket chest. Linens can be exchanged or additional supplies picked up at the Village Operations Center at designated times and days.

Cots, cribs, bedrails, highchairs, and booster seats are available for rental with advance reservations for a minimal fee. Some king-size beds are made up from two twins. Microwaves and DVD players are available in most homes.

Air Conditioning... Due to our mountain location, some of our Vacation Homes do not have air conditioning. Fans are provided to enhance your comfort.

Depending on your family's needs and preferences, you might want to consider packing the following:
Aluminum Foil
Favorite Spices
Plastic Wrap
Powdered Laundry Detergent

Check-in time: After 5:00 pm
Check-out time: Prior to 10:00 am

Early check-ins and late check-outs for your accommodations are not available, but you are welcome to use our facilities on your arrival and departure days. Our Guest Service Desk/Check-in Reception area is located in The Village Center near the Clock Tower and is open 24 hours a day (Friday-Monday) for your convenience.
Check-out later than 10:00 am will result in a late check-out fee. We ask that you observe this check-out time in order to provide our Housekeeping and Maintenance staffs with sufficient time to prepare the condominium for its next occupants.

On check-out day please bring your room keys to the key drop at the Guest Service Desk.

Telephone Messages
Should you need to be reached during your vacation at Smugglers’, please have your caller phone our switchboard at (802) 644-8851, dial 0. The call will be forwarded to your accommodation. If there is no answer, all homes are equipped with voice mail. Emergency messages will be delivered.

Guest registration is made under one name. If you are lodging with more than one family name, advise your caller of the name under which the reservation was made.

Outgoing long distance telephone calls from your accommodation require a calling card, most major credit cards, collect call or third party billing. Calling cards are available at the Country Store.

Pets should be left at home or may be boarded nearby at the Golden Brook Farm in Waterville, (802)644-5147 with advance reservations. There are times, however, when our homeowners in our fully owned rental homes may bring their pets. If you are highly allergic, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Medical Emergencies
In the event of a medical emergency during your stay, you should contact “911” immediately. The “911” operator will dispatch either the Cambridge Rescue Squad or Smugglers’ Security to assist you.

Copley Hospital in Morrisville is a 30 minute drive east and Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington is a 45 minute drive west of Smugglers' Notch. The Cambridge Regional Health clinic (by appointment only) and Kinney Drugs are located on Route 15 West, approximately 8 miles from Smugglers' Notch Resort. Printed directions are available at the Guest Service Desk in case of emergency.
Internet Services
Smugglers’ Notch offers several ways to connect to the Internet.

In your village home using your laptops/tablets

Fee-based High speed wireless internet service (WiFi) is available in our Vacation homes. The service supports both the 802.11b and 802.11g wireless standards and the two major VPN Clients: VPN Pass-through and VPN NAT Traversal type connections.

The cost is $10 for one day and $30 for one week for up to 8 devices. The wireless network is accessed by simply starting up your internet browser and following the directions on screen. Once the device is registered it will automatically access the service through the duration of the account.

Business Center & Online Services

Our Business Center, located in the Meeting House, offers access to the Internet for those guests who need to stay connected while on vacation. Choose the service you need, the time you want and easily pay for it with a credit card.
Our Guests Want to Know - Frequently Asked Questions

“Where do we check-in?”
As you turn into our Resort from Route 108 bear right and proceed to the parking lot on your left. Follow the signs for Guest Registration and Information. Walk under our Welcome Sign. The Guest Service Desk is located in the Village Center building behind the Clock Tower. Please check-in as soon as you arrive in the Resort, and then enjoy our facilities. Expect to be in your condominium home after 5:00 pm.

"What supplies will be in my Village Home?”
Homes are prepared for your arrival with bath towels, linens, blankets and pillows. Your condominium will also have hotel size bars of bath soap, toilet paper, paper towels, dish towels, dish soap, sponges and trash bags.

The kitchen in your Village Home includes pots, pans, plates, glasses, silverware, cooking utensils, a toaster and an auto-drip coffee maker. All Village Homes (studio and larger) have a stove and refrigerator. All Village Homes either have a stacking washer and dryer or have access to a washer and dryer in the building. Private rooms do not have a kitchen.

“Are towels provided at the pools?”
You are welcome to use the bath towels from your Village Home, but most people prefer a larger beach towel. We suggest that you bring along a beach towel from home to use at the pools and waterslides. There are no towels provided at any of the aquatics facilities.

“Are barbecue grills available?”
There are charcoal barbecue grills with picnic tables placed conveniently throughout the Resort. Smugglers’ Notch is concerned with our Vermont environment, therefore, lighting fluid is not allowed. Our Country Store sells pre-treated charcoal and selected meats for your convenience.

“What should I pack my kids for camp?”
We recommend you send along a small backpack, sunscreen, water bottle, water shoes, bathing suit and towel, bug spray, a change of clothes, raincoat, sweatshirt, and sunglasses. Please remember to mark all items with your child’s name. We advise that your child wear sturdy shoes (not sandals) to camp and bring along water shoes for water play only.

“How do I check my child into camp?”
At lodging check-in you will receive a registration card for each child. Each card must be filled out in its entirety. Please bring your camp registration card and report to your child’s designated camp location by 10:00 am, as identified in the Information Guide you will receive at check-in.

* "Is the road between Stowe & Smugglers’ open?”
Route 108 through historic Smugglers’ Notch Pass is very steep and winding. This 4 mile stretch of scenic road connects Stowe and Smugglers’ Notch Resort. We suggest using caution when driving through “The Notch.” Although this road is open from mid-May through mid-October, it is closed in the Winter, and closed year round to motorcoaches, motor homes and commercial vehicles.  Directions

“What do we do if it rains?”
Most of our programs still operate during inclement weather. For your convenience, we also provide local day trip information and rainy day itineraries, available at the Activities Desk, the Clubhouse or the Guest Service Desk.

"What are the area's average temperatures in Summer?"

Avg. High
Avg. Low

"How do I travel to & from Canada?"

Beginning June 1, 2009, U.S. and Canadian citizens 19 years and older who enter the U.S. at land and sea ports of entry from within the Western Hemisphere will need to present government-issued photo ID, such as an enhanced driver's license or a passport as proof of identity. Children age 18 and under will be able to enter with proof of citizenship. Verbal claims of citizenship and identity alone will not be sufficient to establish identity and citizenship for entry into the United States.

U.S. resident aliens will also need a Green Card.

All other foreign country residents will need their valid passport with I94 document. If you are crossing the American/Canadian border and do not have your I94 document with you, you will need your valid passport and a visa. There will be a nominal fee to prepare the I94 documentation for you.
