Bird Watching at Smuggs

Experienced birder or just beginning, there are plenty of interesting and exciting bird watching opportunities at Smugglers'!


We have a Birds and Bloomers Walk offered Tuesdays at 8:00 a.m. Bring your binoculars for this morning walk and learn about the birds and wildflowers of Smugglers' Notch.

Check with the walk's guide for insider tips on bird watching in the areas surrounding the Village. The guide can point you to our self-guided Intro to Bird Watching pamphlets. Organized by habitat, they cover deciduous and mixed woodlands, meadows and hedge rows, and marshy areas.

We also offer an assortment of bird watching guidebooks, binoculars and bird song books. Our special Birds for Kids packs include “kid friendly” bird books and binoculars.

Visit the Green Mountain Audubon Center and the Birds of Vermont Museum in Huntington.
