Employment Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer employee housing?

While we do not offer on-resort housing for employees at this time, there are a number of resources to find local housing. Human Resources works with local landlords to compile a list of available properties, and would be happy to pass along that information to anyone searching for housing. The local Front Porch Forum and Craigslist are great resources for searching for a place to live, as well as local classifieds.

*For landlords looking to share open properties, please call 802-644-8584 or email smcdowell@smuggs.com

Do you provide transportation to the resort?

While having a car in rural Vermont is very beneficial, we understand that owning one may not be possible or make sense for everyone. Green Mountain Transit has a Jeffersonville Commuter route that runs Monday through Friday and services many of the towns between Burlington and the village of Jeffersonville. The online schedule can be found here. A Smugglers' Notch shuttle bus is available for transport between the Jeffersonville drop off point and the resort. This shuttle will run in accordance to the bus schedule and requires at least a 24 hour notice by the employee.

Do you accept international applicants?

Smuggs currently accepts J-1 visa students for our summer and winter seasons and partners with Alliance Abroad. If you are a student looking to participate in a J-1 program at our resort, we would suggest reviewing the program online and contacting Alliance Abroad at +1 (512) 457-8062 to get started.

What if I don’t see the position I’m looking for posted?

We are posting new jobs all the time, so make sure to check back regularly. Follow our Smuggs Careers page on Facebook or connect with us on LinkedIn for announcements about new opportunities.

If I don’t see the job I am interested in, can I just send my resume and cover letter?

Due to the large number of positions we post and applications we receive, we strongly encourage you to apply for a position that is currently listed on our job board. While we may pass along your resume/cover letter to a hiring manager, we cannot guarantee that you will receive a response unless you go through the standard process of applying for a specific job or jobs.

Once I apply for a job, how long should I expect to wait before I hear back?

After you have submitted your application, the Human Resources department will review your submission, including any pertinent attachments such as your resume and/or cover letter. If you meet the minimum qualifications for the position, your application will be forwarded to a hiring manager. Please allow two weeks for your application to be processed and reviewed. If you have not heard back after two weeks, please feel free to reach out to the Human Resources office at 888-754-7684.

I am a current employee or have previously worked at Smuggs, and I am looking to access my W-2 or paystubs; how can I view those documents?

If you haven’t previously logged into the UltiPro employee portal, you may do so by visiting https://e31.ultipro.com. Your user name will be your first initial and last name plus the last four of your social security number (ex. John Smith, SSN xxx-xx-wxyz would use jsmithwxyz). Your password will be your 8 digit birthdate (ex. January 1st, 1900 would be 01011900). Make sure to type the URL in directly (do not use Google) and use the desktop version of the site the first time you log in.

If you have logged into UltiPro previously but need your password reset or are locked out, please contact Human Resources at 888-754-7684.
